Remarine Characters, It Means Hidden Layout, and Blazing Hymn Announcement
If you’ve been following my Twitter you may have seen that I took a new direction with Remarine’s layout!
Using Designspiration, I browsed until I found a color palette I really liked! It was this one:
It feels cool and dark, and the pops of pink are almost toxic?
So, with that in mind, here are some layouts of the first few pages!
Cool, right? Anyway, I’m loving it. I’m having an amazing time.
Speaking of Remarine, let’s take a tour of character creation today! It has three steps, all of them super easy!
Love, Hope, Rage
First, assign your three stats. They’re a 3-2-1 spread between Love, Hope, and Rage.
They’re pretty self-explanatory, but my friend Bill pointed out something when I described it to him: they’re all reasons you would protect something. I liked that a lot, because I wanted Remarine to be a game about protecting your world.
Moves
Next, pick any two moves that don’t key off the same stat! The six moves are:
Connect or Reinforce (Love)
Undermine or Buy Time (Hope)
Lash Out or Target (Rage)
Connect reaches out psychically to the Atrophage Flood, connecting to it and influencing it to change the Wave’s behavior. If you choose Connect, your shell is Luminous.
Reinforce helps allies become stronger, intensifying their own psychic projections to make their moves more effective. If you choose Reinforce, your shell is Bristling.
Undermine reaches out psychically to weaken the Atrophage units, preventing them from harming allies or the Pillar. If you choose Undermine, your shell is Toxic.
Buy Time guards, distracts, or otherwise ties up opponents so that allies are free to take additional actions. If you choose to Buy Time, your shell is Flexible.
Lash Out attacks Atrophage units with abandon, wiping out enemy numbers en masse with pure violence. If you choose to Lash Out, your shell is Bladed.
Target attacks specific strategic Atrophage units, using targeted violence to bypass enemy defenses no matter what they are. If you choose to Target, your shell is Translucent.
Memories
We’ll talk more about these next week, but you choose two memories that you shared with the Paragon before she ascended. These give your Nemesis Unit its abilities, and give you Push Abilities to use in combat too.
Here’s the list:
A Chat in the Garden
A Close Battle
Training Together
The Stars Through the Dome
Cooking Together
A Fight Between Comrades
Co-Conspirators
An Easy Victory
Sharing Tips
Unquiet Minds
A Mutual Loss
Eyes and Hands Meet
Rage and Comfort
A Treasured Gift

It Means Hidden
Man have I been working hard on this lately! For those of you who don’t know, It Means Hidden is my first attempt at a physical cut-and-paste layout for a zine! It’s a variety zine about Tarot including at least two games, and an article about how to read tarot!
The cards are friends of mine.
I’ve been hand-painting my town tarot cards for the occasion, and they’re coming along really well! I also plan on using stamps and calligraphy to really make this a DIY experience for me.
Look forward to it! Physical copies are even going to come with a one of a kind tarot reading included in them! <3 There will be more details coming soon!
Announcing: Blazing Hymn Lightbringer
That’s right folks.
Blazing Hymn just did not have enough Satans in it, so get ready for S-type Hymnals!
The S is for Satan!
The plan is to include new moves for every existing Hymnal class, two new Hymnals, at least one new upgrade mode, and of course some new songs and enemies! All thanks to the power of Hell.
For more Lightbringer updates, be sure to subscribe! I’ll be keeping you all informed as I write this, as well as on Remarine progress and It Means Hidden!
